Testimonials

“Joining Elevated has allowed me to grow more in community and explore my network outside of Colorado Springs."

— DeArion W., Elevated Student

“Being a member of the Sachs Foundation community has truly changed my life. Growing up, I had gone to a predominately white school for the majority of my life, however upon joining the Sachs Elevated program, I was exposed to something completely different. A community where I was not only surrounded by Black/African Americans, but peers that were as similarly ambitious and high achieving as me. They represented their melanin with pride and helped shape my character into who I am today!”

— Lana H., Elevated Alumni

“I’m grateful to the Sachs Foundation for formalizing what many of us know as being raised by a village. That’s how I grew up, and it’s a value I’ve carried with me and embraced even more as I’ve raised my own children. This is my third year as a mentor, and I’ve either known these young people since first grade or have been friends with their parents for years. It’s been an honor to be part of their journey, and I look forward to watching their continued growth and development in the years ahead.”
