Obinna Onyeali

Community Impact Officer

Obinna is a community-rooted leader, storyteller, and advocate committed to equity, belonging, and joy.

Born and raised in Colorado as a First-Generation Nigerian American, Obinna has spent more than a decade working across education, youth development, and community partnerships to expand access and create spaces where people feel seen, valued, and supported.

His professional journey includes serving as an Admissions Counselor at the University of Colorado Boulder and as a TRIO College Advisor with the Denver Scholarship Foundation, where he guided first-generation and underrepresented students in navigating college pathways. He has also led alumni engagement efforts through the Black Alumni Collective and CU Boulder Alumni boards, fostering connection, mentorship, and resources for diverse graduates. Throughout his career, Obinna has built partnerships and supported initiatives that address systemic barriers while promoting equity and opportunity for all.

Guided by culture, communication, and connection, Obinna brings care, honesty, and a deep belief in collective growth to every space he enters. Whether mentoring students, leading workshops, or advocating for BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities, he works to ensure that diverse voices and experiences are not only welcomed but celebrated.

A graduate of the University of Colorado Boulder with a B.A. in Communication, Obinna is also a podcaster, speaker, and home chef who finds joy in storytelling, dancing in the kitchen, and bringing people together.

Building bridges, telling stories, creating change.
