Instructions for the Sachs Foundation Graduate Scholarship

Applications for the Sachs Foundation Graduate Scholarship are accepted from January 1st to March 15th, 2012

  1. Black (African-American)
    We consider a person to be an African-American if they are a member of the African-American race. Applicants with mixed racial and ethnic backgrounds must demonstrate their racial identify to be predominantly African-American and the Trustees will interview and make a determination as to the qualification in those cases that are uncertain.  Information as to philosophy, commitment to the African-American race and self-identify may also be considered in such areas.
  2. TO APPLY YOUR APPLICATION MUST INCLUDE ALL OF THE FOLLOWING:
    • A copy of your final undergraduate transcript.
    • A copy of the first two pages of your parent's most current completed federal tax return, IRS form 1040, if you are still a dependent. If not, you will need to provide your information.
    • A copy of your FAFSA information.
    • You must provide one recommendation for your application to be considered. This can come from a teacher, counselor, dean, coach, etc. They will receive a link to make a recommendation for you.
    • A recent, small picture.
    • A one page personal essay about yourself.
  3. Completed applications, with all materials, must be received by the Sachs Foundation between January 1st and March 1st of each year.  Applications submitted outside this timeframe will not be considered.
