QUALIFICATIONS
UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP QUALIFICATIONS
A. Black (African-American)
Mr. Sachs established these scholarships to provide assistance to Black/African-Americans for college level education. By submitting this application, you are verifying to us that you are a member of the Black/African-American race.
B. COLORADO RESIDENTS ONLY (MINIMUM 5 YEARS RESIDENCY)
1. Applicants must be a full time Colorado resident for a minimum of 5 years.
2. Residence due to military orders to Colorado may be accepted on a case by case basis.
C. APPLICATIONS ARE ONLY ACCEPTED FROM:
1. Current high school seniors (this years high school graduates).
TO APPLY for our college scholarships you must
include:
1. The Sachs Foundation application form.
2. The Sachs Foundation financial statement.
3. A copy of your parents most current completed federal tax return.
(IRS form 1040).
4. A certified copy of your high school grade transcript covering
11 semesters.
5. Three (3) current letters of recommendation from school counselors
or teachers. See Attached form.
6. A recent small photograph.
7. A copy of your Colorado School Enrollment From (which indicates your Racial Category, as submitted on enrollment in public or private school by your parent/guardian). If you have difficulty obtaining a copy of your enrollment form, contact the Sachs Foundation by phone, mail or e-mail.
8. Completed applications, with all materials must be received at
the SACHS FOUNDATION accepted after January 1 no
later than March 1 of each year.
Please Note: Any incomplete or incorrect statement will directly impact any consideration of your grant application.
GRADUATE SCHOLARHIP QUALIFICATIONS
Only current Sachs Foundation recipients who are receiving an undergraduate degree are eligible for graduate scholarships.
The Sachs Foundation also has a very limited graduate grant program. Selection for a graduate grant is on a case by case basis by the Board of Directors.
In 2006, the average graduate grant was $5,000.00 per year and can continue for up to four years if all our requirements for continuation are met.
TO APPLY for our Graduate GRANTS you must include:
1. The Sachs Foundation Graduate application form.
2. The Sachs Foundation financial statement.
3. A copy of your parent's most current federal tax return
(IRS form 1040) or your 1040 if over 21 and not a dependant.
4. A certified copy of your final undergraduate grade transcript.
5. Completed applications, with all materials must be received at
the Sachs Foundation by March 1.
With all Sachs Foundation programs, right is reserved to amend or cancel this program if subsequent rulings from the Internal Revenue Service, under the Tax Reform act of 1969 or other legislation, in the opinion of the Board of Directors, are such as to require material change in the current features of the program. the amount of the scholarships can vary depending on funds available.
