QUALIFICATIONS

Read below for qualifications regarding the Undergraduate, Graduate, UCCS Health Science, Morris A. Esmiol, Jr. Scholarship in Engineering at UCCS, University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine and University of Colorado Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences.

 Please Note: Any incomplete application will not be considered.  All documents must be submitted together.


UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP QUALIFICATIONS

A. Black/African-American

Mr. Sachs established these scholarships to provide assistance to Black/African-Americans for college level education. By submitting this application, you are verifying to us that you are a member of the Black/African-American race.  Applicants with mixed racial and ethnic backgrounds must demonstrate their racial identity to be predominantly African-American.

The average undergraduate grant is $5,000.00 per year.  

B. Colorado Residents Only (Minimum 5 Years Residency)

  • Applicants must be a full time, Colorado resident for a minimum of 5 years.
  • Residence due to military orders to Colorado may be accepted on a case by case basis.

C. Applications Are Only Accepted From:

  • Current high school seniors (this year's high school graduates).

D.  Academic accomplishment and financial need must be demonstrated.

E.  You must attend a personal interview in Colorado Springs.

 TO APPLY, YOUR ONLINE APPLICATION MUST INCLUDE ALL OF THE FOLLOWING:  

  • Your high school transcript covering seven semesters.
  • The first two pages of your parent's most current completed federal tax return, IRS form 1040.
  • Pages 1-5 of your FAFSA report. 
  • Electronic Student Aid Report (SAR).
  • You must provide three recommendations for your application to be considered.  These can come from teachers, counselors, principal, coach, etc.  They will receive a link to make a recommendation for you. Make sure that your IT Department whitelist: automated.email@scholarselect.com.
  • A recent small picture of yourself.
  • A one page personal essay about yourself.

GRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP QUALIFICATIONS

The Sachs Foundation also has a very limited graduate grant program.  To be eligible to apply for a graduate grant, you must either be a current Sachs Foundation undergraduate recipient or an undergraduate recipient within the past three years. Selection for a graduate grant is on a case by case basis by the Board of Directors.

If, for any reason, you have been terminated from our undergraduate scholarship program, you are ineligible for graduate scholarship assistance.

The average graduate grant is $6,000.00 per year and can continue for up to four years if all our requirements for continuation are met.

  • The first two pages of your parent's most current completed federal tax return, IRS form 1040, if you are still a dependent.  If not, you will need to provide your information.

UCCS HEALTH SCIENCE SCHOLARSHIP QUALIFICATIONS

A. Black/African-American

Mr. Sachs established these scholarships to provide assistance to Black/African-Americans for college level education. Applicants with mixed racial and ethnic backgrounds must demonstrate their racial identity to be predominantly African-American.

The average grant is $5,000.00 per year.

  • The first two pages of your parent's most current completed federal tax return, IRS form 1040, if you are still a dependent. If not, you will need to provide your information.

UNIVERSITY OF COLORADO SCHOOL OF DENTAL MEDICINE SCHOLARSHIP QUALIFICATIONS

A. Black/African-American

Applicants with mixed racial and ethnic backgrounds must demonstrate their racial identity to be predominantly African-American.

 B. You must attend the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine

 C. You must have received your undergraduate degree or completed acceptable prerequisites for admission within the last three years.

 TO APPLY, YOUR ONLINE APPLICATION MUST INCLUDE ALL OF THE FOLLOWING:

  • Your college transcript.
  • The first two pages of your parent's most current completed federal tax return, IRS form 1040. If you are independent, submit your information.
  • Pages 1-5 of your FAFSA report.
  • Electronic Student Aid Report (SAR).
  • You must provide one recommendation for your application to be considered.  This can come from professors, counselors, dean,  etc. They will receive a link to make a recommendation for you. Make sure that your IT Department whitelist: automated.email@scholarselect.com.

UNIVERSITY OF COLORADO SKAGGS SCHOOL OF PHARMACY AND PHARMACEUTICAL SCIENCES SCHOLARSHIP QUALIFICATIONS

B.  You must attend the Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Colorado.

C.  You must have received your undergraduate degree or completed acceptable prerequisites for admission within the last three years.
